FC Barcelona forced to make a statement regarding Adrien Rabiot

FC Barcelona were forced to put out a statement regarding their enquires for the soon to be out of contract PSG player Adrien Rabiot. The Parisian midfielder's contract ends in the summer of 2019 and clubs can officially start negotiations with the players after the beginning of January transfer window for pre-contract agreements.
Rabiot had made it clear to the PSG hierarchy that he will not be signing a new contract and wants to move on. PSG's Sporting Director Antonio Henrique had responded to this by banning the player from the first team, effectively asking him to look for a club in the winter transfer window itself, so that PSG could recoup atleast some amount of money for a player who had graduated from their academy.
Recently though, the talks of Rabiot moving to PSG or Juventus had intensified, with PSG feeling that they had been cut-out of the negotiaitions. They thus threatened legal actions against potential suitors, which led to FC Barcelona responding with an official statement. Here is what FC Barcelona were forced to put out:
FC Barcelona wish to address stories published in France regarding the signing of players from Paris Saint Germain, and make clear that they have not breached any rule in this regard.
The only contact made was during the month of August and one week ago. In both cases, this contact was made with PSG's sporting management to show FC Barcelona's interest in player Adrien Rabiot.
FC Barcelona have always wanted to work with the utmost transparency in their dealings with PSG and with any other club.
FC Barcelona refute the existence of any type of agreement with PSG player Adrien Rabiot.
Whatever be the legal mess, one thing is certain. Rabiot will have no shortage of potential suitors, with Juventus and Manchester United also interested in the player, but as of this moment, FC Barcelona look like clear favourites to get his signature. The only thing that remanins to be seen is whether Rabiot signs a pre-contract agreement to move in the summer of 2019 or if he forces through a move immediately.
