The winger replaces Onwu who has been loaned out to Odisha FC.
Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Bengaluru FC have roped in Spanish winger Nili Pedromo on a deal till
the end of the season, as announced officially by the club on Tuesday.
The 25-year old Spanish winger, who replaces striker Manuel Onwu, is expected to arrive soon as the
latter has been loaned out to Odisha FC.
Pedromo becomes the second signing of the club in the January transfer window after Jamaican
international Deshorn Brown joined the club last week.
Bengaluru FC head coach Carles Cuadrat expects that the addition of the Spanish winger will boost the
side in the race to the top four. "He is a young player with a lot of potential who has come to try to help
us to achieve the objectives at a crucial moment of the season. We both share same roots as he also has
been playing in La Masia, and even playing with the Barca first team for some games”, he said.
The winger is excited to embark on his first stint outside Europe, “Well, I am very happy to be able to go
to the best club in India, and above all to thank the coach and the club for trusting me and giving me this
opportunity. I am looking forward to starting and giving joy to the fans, I have seen many matches of our
team, and I believe we have what it takes to be champions”, said Nili.
Nili Pedromo came up through the youth setup of Las Palmas in 2013 while he made his La Liga debut in
2016. He joined FC Barcelona the following season and made a first-team appearance at the Cops del
Rey, while continuing regularly in the reserve side for the club.
He then signed up for Spanish second division outfit Albacete during the first half of the 2017-18 season,
after which he joined Greek Super League outfit Platanias for whom he continued playing till he signed
up for the Blues.
