FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Stimac releases players from India camp

 

Panaji: Indian Senior National Team Coach Igor Stimac has released 6 players from the 35 probables squad for the preparatory camp for India’s forthcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Oman, and Asian Champions Qatar. The players are currently in training camp at Goa.

 

            The players released from the squad are : Anwar Ali (Jr.), Salam Ranjan Singh, Jerry Lalrinzuala, Farukh Choudhary, Jobby Justin and Pronay Halder.

 

            India is set to begin their campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2022 against Oman and Qatar on September 5, and 10 respectively. While the match against Oman is slated to be held in Guwahati, India will be travelling to take on Doha in the next match. Afghanistan, and Bangladesh are the other two teams in the Group.

 

            The list of the remaining 29 probables stay as follows:

 

GOALKEEPERS: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Amrinder Singh, Kamaljit Singh, Vishal Kaith.

DEFENDERS: Rahul Bheke, Nishu Kumar, Pritam Kotal, Anas Edathodika, Sandesh Jhingan, Narender Gahlot, Sarthak Golui, Adil Khan, Subhasish Bose, Mandar Rao Dessai.

MIDFIELDERS: Nikhil Poojary, Udanta Singh, Anirudh Thapa, Raynier Fernandes, Vinit Rai, Sahal Abdul Samad, Amarjit Singh,  Rowllin Borges, Brandon Fernandes, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Halicharan Narzary, Ashique Kuruniyan.

FORWARDS: Balwant Singh, Sunil Chhetri, Manvir Singh.
