A.Retentions

 

  1. Borja Gomez Perez – The 31 year old Spanish centre back, nicknamed as ‘SENAPATHI’ by the fans signed 2 year contract extension with the club. Joined last year from Segunda Division club S.S. Reyes, Perez delivered rock solid, resolute defensive performances throughout the previous season. The Spaniard has been leading the East Bengal defence and organising the back four in tandem, making him an obvious choice for tenure extension at the Club.
  2. Jamie Santos Garner – The 24 year old Spanish right winger has also been handed 2 year contract extension by the Red and Golds. Joined last season from Segunda Division club Mirandes, he appeared in 18 matches playing in I-League and Durand cup , scoring 8 goals including one scored in second I-League Kolkata Derby. The youngster was a revelation for the Kolkata side and took very less time to adjust himself to the new conditions and win the hearts of the club loyalists convicing the club management to offer him contract extension
  3. Kassim Aidara – The 31 year old Senegalese central midfielder will stay with the club for one more season. He made an impressive debut in I-League by helping minnows Minerva Punjab to clinch 2017-18 season. Barring initial lackluster performaces in the beginning, Aidara under the Spanish coach Alejandro Garcia rediscovered his form and developed solid central midfield partnership with Lalrindika Ralte which helped the club to perform well consistently in the second half of the season.

 

B.Arrivals

 

  1. Marti Crespi – The 32 year old Spanish centre back joined East Bengal from Odisha FC (previously called Delhi Dynamos) on free transfer. With decade long experience of playing football in Spain, Ukraine and China, Crespi will be a strong contender to slot with ease in Red and Gold’s back four developing a formidable defense for the club.
  2. Juan Mera – The 25 year old Spanish Attacking midfielder have arrived on one year contract on free transfer after leaving Segunda division club Leioa. Having played for B teams of clubs like Sporting Gijon and Celta Vigo, the Spaniard youngster will bring lot of firepower in Red and Gold’s strike force.
  3. Marcos Jimenez De La Espada -  Joining on free transfer after short stint at Spanish club Atletico Baleares, the 33 year old striker Marcos Espada is physically well-built and can be a nightmare for opposition defenders. He is excellent in the air and equally astute with his movement and agility. His goalscoring ratio suggests that he will be the man leading the line for the Red and Gold and along with his compatriot Jaime Colado and other talented Indian players Pintu Mahata, Ronaldo Oliveira, Vidyasagar Singh, East Bengal are definitely a force to be reckoned with.
