Bhubaneshwar: Nepal defeated Indian women's team by two goals to one in the Hero Gold Cup tournament at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Monday. A win for India could have sealed the deal to reach the final of the tournament.
Nepal took an early lead in the match through Sabitra Bhandari, as early as the 5th minute of the match. This was followed by another poor defensive display as Sabitra scored a brace a couple of minutes later after drawing the first blood.
Ratanbala scored a late 83rd minute goal but that was of little help to the cause of the hosts as they couldn't find an equaliser.
Earlier India defeated Iran in the opening match. India will play Myanmar on Wednesday.
