Kochi: Indian Super League returned to action today as Kerala Blasters held visitors ATK for a draw. Goals from Edu Garcia and Poplantik ensured the sides lingering in the bottom half of the table share spoils.
Under the new gaffer Nelo Vingada, the Tuskers made a great start in the first half as Prasanth and Cyril Kali caused problems upfront to the ATK defence. But the men in yellow wasted a lot of chances. Prasanth found Poplantik with a cross, who headed it off target. This was soon followed by Len Doungel missing a tap in opportunity from Cyril Kali's cross.
The poor play in the final third continued for the hosts as Stojanovic threw away an easy opportunity to earn the lead for his side through a cross from Len Doungel. The visitors punished the hosts as Edu Garcia scored from a freekick conceded by Lalruatthara at the edge of the box.
But, just as it seemed that ATK were going away with all three points, Cyril Kali found Matej Poplantik at the far post and the latter's header found the back of the net after hitting Person Vieira's legs.
