Official: ATK beat top Asian clubs to sign up A-League star player
Kolkata: Indian Super League (ISL) outfit ATK today confirmed the signing of 31-year old Fiji International Roy Krishna. Roy Krishna was named the best player in A-League this season and also won the Golden Boot.
He was contracted last to Wellington Phoenix in the Australian top tier. The Fiji International striker is also the national team captain and has 23 goals to his name in 35 appearances for the national team.
He is currently in Fiji on a break and will join the national team camp on duty, before later joining the new club for the pre-season. The striker has scored 51 goals for Wellington Phoenix in 122 appearances and was on the target of many top Asian clubs.
He will be the first ever Fijian and a player from Oceania to play in the Indian Super League. He will be making $1.3 million dollars USD per season at ATK.
