India are the defending champions of the SAFF Women's Cup. India were quick on their business as they begin attack from first minute itself. The team got the lead as early as the 8th minute of the game when Dangmei Grace found the back of the net after a couple of attempts.
India doubled their lead five minutes later as Grace assisted Sandhiya who controlled the ball with the first touch and swivelled with the second to shoot into the net. Indumathi added a third goal to give the side a 3-goal cushion as she burst into the box to place a shot past the keeper.
India's attack continued to trouble Maldives. Four minutes later, Sanju joined the party as she controlled a cross from Dalima Chhiber on the right flank and curled the ball into the far corner. Just before the stroke of half time, Ratanbala Devi scored from a direct free-kick taken from just outside the penalty box to increase India's goal tally to five.
In the next half, the Maldives defence dropped deep to stop India's attacks and the team started trying long range efforts but without success. However, Sanju added a late goal in the last minute of the regular time to make it six for India and a brace to her name.
