THE PL TRANSFER GAMES

Arriving from Lille in 2012, the 28 year’s old Belgian playmaker has scored 110 goals and gave 92 assists in all competitions for Chelsea during his 7 years stint at the club. He also won Premier League and Europa league twice with the North London club. He also won Premier League Young Player of the Year in 2014. Hazard's former teammate and Lille’s former captain Rio Mavuba described Hazard as "a great player, with an immense talent. He's actually not that big, but he's so fast. He's also very difficult to dispossess and his finishing is top notch".

Primarly, an attacking midfielder, and he creates scoring chances, but he still continues to maintain possession and give teammates chances to score. In the later stages of his career at Chelsea, he was mostly deployed as left winger but has also played as second striker as well as ‘false 9’. On the possession side of things, Hazard has one of the best touches on Chelsea's roster. His control is superb, and his first touch is always in the right direction. He has a high IQ and he knows what he's doing on the pitch with and without the ball. Hazard is always in good control of his body. While he can fend off defenders, Hazard understands when it's time to hit the deck.

Eden Hazard has achieved not less than a Superstar status at Chelsea. He became fan favourite and has been labelled as one of best signings ever made in club’s history. Also, under his captaincy, Belgium finished 3rd in FIFA World Cup 2019 – the best finish in country’s footballing history. Hazard has been long contemplating his future at Chelsea amid desire to play for Real Madrid. In response to the question regarding his future during an interview with French radio station RMC, Hazard replied: "I know what I will do. I have made my decision." Chelsea have already saw his Belgian teammate Thibaut Courtois forcing out a move to Real Madrid and aren’t ready to face same scenario. Chelsea were hoping to tie down Hazard on a long deal but he was excited with the prospect of playing in Spain under tutelage of his idol Zinedine Zidane. At the end, Chelsea gave up and let Eden join Real Madrid on € 100 Million transfer with bonuses potentially rising to € 146 Million. Hazard will reportedly earn € 450k/week as wages with Real Madrid gaining a world class player making their attacking cavalry a one to watch out. Chelsea, owing to transfer ban as well as Hazard’s exit, have decided to reject Bayern Munich’s offer for youngster Callum Hudson Odoi and offered a new contract to the player along with opportunity to wear club’s No.10 jersey, previously worn by Hazard which recently has been reported to been accepted by the player.
