THE PL TRANSFER GAMES

In the last few days, Arsenal was being heavily linked with 25 year old Juventus defender Daniele Rugani. The Italian have been rocksolid at the centre of defense and also scored 2 league goals last season. However, arrivals of Turkish defender Merih Demiral and ex Ajax Captain Matthijs De Ligt have reduced his chances of being in starting lineup. Arsenal have offered 2 year loan with option to buy at the end of the season. However, the player haven’t been keen to play in England and wants to stay in Italy and fight for his place in the squad. Rugani has always been known for his excellent knowledge of the game and position, it is believed that during his youth team days, and he would be the only defender and would allow the rest of his teammates to play in an attacking formation. He is an extremely hard worker as well and has decent pace which is a great asset for any player in this day of football, he can play on either side of the centre back pairing and is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, another bonus for any club that does want to sign the centre-back. Rugani has a great temperament also, as he avoids needless tackles and bookings and that is something laudable for someone so young. Acquired from Empoli, he has been witnessed as future of Juventus defense. But now, he fell down in pecking order and has also been left out of Champions League squad owing to unavailability of foreign player spot.

Arsenal have finally went ahead with signing Chelsea defender David Luiz in € 12 Million deal as they were unable to agree on a deal with Juventus. Juventus, on the other hand, are in talks with AS Roma as well as AS Monaco, regarding a loan deal with option to buy for € 25 Million. The Turin based club haven’t been able to secure a deal yet, but are in talks with both the clubs for a possible deal to conclude before transfer window ends. Rugani, being a young respect, would strengthen defense of any club he’ll end up with in the future and can be a defender to watch out for in the future.
